The history of the "Prospector" canoe is written in its name. The Chestnut Canoe Company started building it in response to demand from the Geological Survey of Canada in 1923. A century later, Headwaters Canoes is the custodian of an original Chestnut Prospector building form, and is proud to create wood-canvas canoes that are true to the original.
